Cleaning Tips – Carpet Cleaning the Right Way

Cleaning tips are best implemented within the home, but can also be successfully used in office or industrial environments. This article will explain some basic cleaning tips involving the carpet and how to get the most out of your cleaning regime.

Cleaning should be done on a weekly, if not daily basis to keep your home looking tidy and welcoming. One area which accumulates the most dust and dirt is the carpet. Those of you with laminate or wooden floors will also require a cleaning regime, but this will be covered in another article.

Firstly tackle cleaning carpet in the hallways or areas where people frequently walk through with shoes on. These areas quickly gather dirt from shoes and feet, and without proper maintenance will damage your carpets almost beyond repair. A bog standard vacuum cleaner is sufficient here, and a few ‘runs’ over the dirty area will often pick up most of the fluff and dirt in the affected area. Its usually best to work from a corner of the room inwards to make sure that whole room is cleaned equally. The most affected types of carpet are usually the long pile varieties which can become sticky and dirty. For these types of carpets, ensure regular cleaning is carried out to keep things fresh and stain free.

For muddy feet stains and other inground dirt you may require a deeper clean, so some lightly soaped warm water rubbed into the affected area can be a great way to ease some of the stains you may have in doorways and around tables and furniture. By keeping a regular cleaning routine, you will prevent some of the wear and tear usually found on carpets and keep your home looking stunning.
