Cleaning Tips To Follow When Selling Your Home

Prioritize cleaning the major rooms. Interested buyers are usually interested in 4 rooms: the living room, dining room, kitchen, and bathroom. When cleaning these rooms, follow the top-to-bottom, left-to-right rule for cleaning so that you can be no surface will be overlooked. Before using any cleaning product, check the labels to make sure they are appropriate for the surfaces to be cleaned. It is also best to use spray cleaners to clean small areas, such as countertops. To clean larger areas such as floors and walls, mix powders or liquids in a pail of water and use a mop, sponge, or piece of cloth.

Get rid of mold and mildew in bathrooms. Aside from being unsightly, potential buyers can be turned off by the presence of any mold and mildew. To remove them from shower doors and tiles, use liquid household bleach or cleaners with bleach and scrub these areas properly.

Don’t forget to clean the windows and vacuum carpets and drapes. Use a dusting product so that the dust in each room will be trapped and removed easily rather than dispersed in the air. When vacuuming, use long straight strokes. Always dust thoroughly as well.

Always make sure the kitchen and bathroom countertops are clean and cleared of any clutter. Sort and store non-essentials in storage containers. Always wipe all surfaces clean. Anything that placed on the countertop should always be wiped clean, too. Wipe up spills as they happen to avoid stains and a longer time of cleaning them.
