Some Carpet Stain Removal Tips

Taking care of carpets especially since they are expensive can be veryothersome at times and removing stains from them is more than a hard work. When you have some kids around it becomes very hard for you to keep it safe from stains like ketchup and juice. But the good thing about carpets nowdays is that they come with a stain resistant coating. The coating will not help you completely with the stain but it will definitely help the stain from setting into the fabric. Vacuuming regularly and setting door mat helps a lot in keeping the dirt out of the carpet. Here are few tips on how you can get rid of these stubborn stains.

1 – Get rid of the stain as soon as you get them and make sure it is cleaned properly.

2 – To get rid of stains like ketchup or fruit juices, first try to dry the area with the help of a towel or paper. Next step is to mix 1 cup of vinegar with 2 cups of warm water. Soak the towel in this mixture and press on the stain for few seconds. Afterwards, dry it with a clean cloth. It will remove any kind of non-oily stains.

3 – Removing greasy and oily stains from your carpet can be very tough. And if you leave the stain for a longer time it will become tougher. For that, you have to blot the stain with a dry paper to remove all the oil from it. Then spread baking soda and salt on the stain and leave it overnight so it can absorb all the excess oil or grease. Vacuum the area in the morning. Afterwards, mix a dishwashing soap in warm water and clean the area with it. Put a dry towel on it and press it for a while. Use some weight on it and let it absorb all the water overnight. Vacuum it in the morning, the stain will be gone.
